By August 15, Jews from Kovna (Kaunas) were put into the ghetto in Slabodka. Kovna Jews were also divided into a “Big Ghetto” with 28,000 and a “Little Ghetto” where for a very short time 2000 Jews lived.
 
In Shavli the Jews were put into a ghetto in the “Kavkaz” (Caucasus) neighborhood and a ghetto in the “Trako” neighborhood, altogether 5500 Jews...
