Lithuania, Crime and Punishment (No. 7)

The onset of 2004 has seen the international community once again ignoring the dark truth of history with the admittance of Lithuania to the EU, Nato and other key international organizations. Nevertheless we- the survivors of the atrocities perpetrated by the Lithuanaians against the Jewish citizens of Lithuania as well as those of the occupied European countries-shall continue to remind the world of those atrocities and of the cruel murders committed by them during the Holocaust. More than 200,000 Lithuanaian Jewish citizens, which were 96% of Lithuanian Jewry and hundreds of thousands more Jews from the occupied European countries- men, women and infants-were wiped out at the hands of the Lithuanians. We shall carry on reminding the horrors until Lithuania faces up to its bloody history. "Lithuania, Crime, & Punishment" is one of our tools for that matter, and number 7, is the first issue that is being hosted by our new Internet site: www. lithuanianjews.org.il

This issue comprises two parts:  In the first part we recall some of crimes (atrocities) committed by the Lithuanians against their Jewish neighbours, while the second part deals with the strained relations existing between the Lithuanians and the survivors who had hoped in vain that Lithuanas behaviour would give good reason to change for the better.
